DIGITAL SIGNAGE at Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School
For students, faculty, and staff, school can be a sensory-rich experience. Bells sound to note the start and end to a period. Lockers slam shut as students take necessary items for class. The rustling of papers can be heard as students place books, notes and assignments in their backpacks.
In between the hustle and bustle of the school day, important information must also be disseminated from the administration to the remainder of the school. Such is the task of Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School, which like any educational facility, must find the most efficient means of communication from the administration to its students, faculty, and staff in the midst of a busy day.
Founded in 1995, Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School aims to nurture the minds and spirits of its students while also engendering an environment that develops passion and a God-given purpose. The school is a community of nearly 900 students and 90 faculty and staff members.
To share information, Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School has relied on making announcements over the loudspeaker, calling parents, and sending emails through its school management website Edline.
Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School turned to the systems integration provider SEED COMM to find a way to disseminate information quickly and in an appealing way that would allow its students, faculty, and staff to retain the information.
“The software itself is easy to use in terms of being able to take information that they already have in place, whether it be a slide or a photo, and allows them to bring it into the software package without having to make conversion upon conversion to make that work,”
Lee Thompson, Office Manager of SEED COMM Inc.
With the goal of providing an efficient and reliable method for displaying up-to-date school news, SEED COMM installed four SpinetiX HMP 300 media players in four designated entryways of Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School. Elementi 2016 software was installed on one main network computer, with rented props provided for the four designated locations for each display and additional assistance with the setup of templates for announcements.
“The software itself is easy to use in terms of being able to take information that they already have in place, whether it be a slide or a photo, and allows them to bring it into the software package without having to make conversion upon conversion to make that work,” says Lee Thompson, Office Manager of SEED COMM Inc.
This solution updated the method of sharing information through loudspeaker announcements, phone calls, and email by transforming written text and spoken words into a luminous, visually stunning display of information. This low maintenance solution allows Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School to schedule, deliver, and play back content as needed and includes more than 150 widgets, which sets the stage for the future integration of social media feeds.
Through SpinetiX digital signage solutions, administrators of Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School have gained a fresh and impactful tool for sharing information. Students and faculty can now view up-to-the-minute school news, weather and messages with a quick glance at sleek displays throughout various common areas of the school.
“We’re very happy with it,” says Jon Klish, Instructional Technology Coordinator of Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School. “Kids know when Mass is, when dress down days are. The kids are more in the know now than they were in the past.”
Not only does the Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School community more readily have access to pertinent school updates, but the use of HMP 300 media players and Elementi 2016 software also cuts down on time, producing a more streamlined process for distributing information in real-time, which becomes critical in the event of an emergency.
Additionally, the modern design provides wide appeal for all within the school’s community, and particularly to tech-savvy digital natives–from students to members of the faculty and administration—who rely heavily on visually rich technology such as smartphones and tablets.
Overall, SEED COMM provided a solution to take Holy Trinity Catholic Middle School into a new era of communication, one in which a reliable, efficient, and appealing visual aesthetic is front and center.
